Got a hole

For a bunch of days an odor permeated my living quarters. First action was to bleach the sink drain because it is a direct drain w/ no trap, bleach kills order causers. Didn’t go away. Fear was it was from overflowing water when I fill the tank. Water overfill is known because the extra runs down the side of the tank which is underneath the galley. Or maybe when fuller it schloshes out a pipe opening in the tank. Today I felt around the exposed edge of the tank to learn that it was wet. Hmmm… spilling water which keeps the subfloor moist which gives off the smell. There is a hole in the tank on one of its sides. I pumped the water out and now the tank wall is dry. Tomorrow I will disassemble the water system and remove the tank then identify the leak source and hopefully patch it.

Mountain Bike Festival is now over, all the traveling visitors have left for home. I worked the first shift which was friday afternoon at the beer token tent. Lots of exchanges were made. A tip jar was on the table for contributions to the red rock trail fund. Spoke w/ the $ person today who said that more tips were made on card purchases vs cash. $4 / beer.

I walked around the venue. I connected w/ several people I have met along the way and also cold conversations with people about their home trails. I was invited to a beer drinking social at Oak Creek brewery hosted(?) by Troy. I walked around, I noticed that Troy and I were the oldest present, the others were way younger than our 60s. The FS had an information table near the entrance where they posted names of open and closed trails. The closed were because of mud from melting snow from last weekend. Rain fell on Sat dashing my desire to ride down in the Village.

Today was an old time mountain bike heaven ride with almost all of us from back in those days, certainly when I first rode with them back in 2010. Newer social trails connecting system trails. We did ride the newly built piece of Outer Limits. These trails did not require leg armor. Dry Creek is still really running, no dry feet crossing which dictated our route as we out and backed across the road bridge. On the way out a creek boater was preparing to paddle the creek. 17 miles. We rolled over sections of water saturated dirt which acted like rising flat tires.

I wore the Ambush helmet which is very comfortable. Also for its first was the new Wingnut pack.

No sink water. I am pouring water from a gallon jug.

Finished ” The light Between Oceans”. The tail end of it wetted my eyes. Next book is light read of Riders of the Purple Sage by Zane Grey.

Last night I watched Gonzaga beat ST Marys to finish running the WCC. Zags are still ranked #1 in the country. I slept in a parking lot in the village.

Bed time.
