Even the chipmunks make dust

I am using a new spot to me to camp on past the woman’s camp. Road here is perhaps driven in: is is on native dirt which is crushed pumice smashed to fine powder. I watched chipmunks run across the track creating dust cloud behind them. It is what it is. Flagstaff is getting mass rain from monsoon season. Here one day I recorded humidity which appears to be typical: 1:30 AM=60%, 5:45 PM = 12%. 90 something day temps with some nights in upper 40s.

My abdomen pain and general malaise came to a head 2 nights ago. Short story my body was sending disconcerting actions. Concern has been something from colon issue. Thought my condition was caused by colon. I couldn’t sleep. I was freaking but hesitant to drive to the ER. I was either seeing them tonight or tomorrow. I couldn’t sleep, this time made sense to go. I rigged the van for travel. My spot had a slight bend between the road and where I parked and bordered by trees. The backup lights don’t throw much light. I got out with my headlamp to make driving corrections. Took many minutes to backup about 70 feet. Anyway made the ER. attended to almost immediately. Swapped street clothes for a gown. IV plumbing installed. DR asked questions, listened to my lungs and heart and story. Order CT scan which I would have done later in the week. Results back that hernia repair is in accord and maybe an “itis” Continue antibiotics. No reason for abdomen noise. Released. Still no explanation for my localized pain.

Making rest days avoiding the heat. Albeit evening temps would make for great riding.

Last night I stayed at preferred Phils spot backed under tree cover. I was in bed well after dark when lights of some kind of a rig shone around me. Somebody drove in and didn’t see me so it made a several point turn to reverse course while adding quite a bit of throttle. More cars that I like travel this road, some biker rigs headed to and from The Lair trails. Sped by raising clouds of dust. Went for an evening walk.

Trails’ shape is same as the nearby town. OK, turn whatever your are viewing on its side to see.

Today I sat outside sometimes in the sun reading. Late afternoon drove into town for water, swap books at Dudleys downtown then 10 Barrel for social beer. back out past Phils at new spot for dinner and the night. Found a cream sauce recipe online that I made for dinner. Evening walk out here.

I took a piece of knowledge from my last read book about giving yourself permission to do and / or be who you wanted to be. Being single I only had to give that permission to myself, I prepared myself to ask. 10 years later better to have asked than beg forgiveness.

Fat Tire Dave let me know he was in Hood River then heading north.

New brakes on the van.

Open door and windows at 9:30, 66 degrees. Good sleeping temps.
