Monday I rode Soldier wash trails to learn of overuse from the festival. The trails had wear but not damaged. I did find one brake drag rut right before a blind roll down. I wandered around making my ride from trail system. I parked at Posse grounds then rode down the road the church entrance. The exit off Jordan needs to be the 4X from the sink hole.
Monday I stayed up late at PJ’s watching the Zags beat BYU to advance to WCC finals. Drove out to increasingly crowded Beaverhead.
Tues was another PT session. Afterwards I drove up to Flag to a DR appointment about a pain I have had in my chest. Chest ray was negative and nothing was discovered. Might be muscle pain.
Turner called and left a voice mail. I called back. Jarett offered me a insignificant finish blem frame. I was all over it. I will be riding the Lyrik fork which is just a bit more burly than existing Pike. I have the spokes and rims for the 650B wheel size which will be laced to the I9 Torch hubs. I will move over stuff from the Spot.
Tuesday early evening the Zags beat ST Marys for the WCC championship and admittance to the Big Dance
Yesterday I joined Jimmy and Ian for a ride. I made it to Baby Bell when I landed hard from a drop and blew out my rear tire. I told then to continue their ride and that I would fix up whatever and ride back to the shop. I attached the neat Lyzene pump to the valve stem and pumped. I could hear air leaking out. I found the spot at the bead. Sealant wasn’t stopping the leak. I removed the valve core and installed a slimed tube. I then rode a short loop back to the shop. In the Jobox I had a Conti mtn king 2.2 and a maxxis Minion. I put on the Conti and inflated. No go, tire leaked thru worn sidewalls. I retired that tire to the dumpster then put on the Minnion.
Yesterday Ben Gavelda, the author and photographer of the article about me in Freehub, showed up. He’s down here to do a photo shoot.
Beaverhead is crowded.
Today was laundry day. Nearest laundromat is up in west sedona, the one I have been using when here. Clean clothes.
Sandy met me for a ride of Old Post, Skywalker, Scoripion, and Sketch. Skywalker leaves Old Post where the former Bike Path crossed. Today a new trail sign read “Sky Jacker” for the old Bike Path. This loop was prolly hammered during the festival, again it showed wear but not damage. Sunny warm day.
Back at VOC. I walked to Jan’s studio where the shower is. She was in the midst of moving out. I have lost my shower down here. Change.
