crushed, depressed, just prone to violence

The computer tech went down the wrong snake hole and lost 5+ years of GPS mapping my rides….. and lost my email account. No email history, no contacts. I am no longer able to obtain email contacts. Should you want to contact me, you need to email me @ craig@runutsadventures.com  or leave a comment on the blog. I have 3/4 of a mind to sue them. The programs filed the data that they generated in their generated locations, not where he thought files would be, he didn’t back up my C drive. I behaved myself keeping my emotions in check as he searched and corrected some other issues. I did ask for my $ back that was given. I working on finding peace and letting go. This fucking computer keeps sending the cursor all over this missive. I have red lined past pissed off.

I really hurt my shoulder last night petting my neighbors’ energetic labs. Tomorrow afternoon I learn the damage and repair and recuperation.

I am too mad to continue.

Mica peak and bull moose

Last night driving from Capones in Post Falls heading back to Spokane I decided to check out the parking lot above Liberty lake to see if I could camp there as I rode from there today. I checked all the posted signs that only dealt w/ horse people keeping the TH clean. I camped there. I didn’t sleep deeply as I expected a knock on the door.

This AM a light patter of rain fell off and on. i checked the radar studying the precip scans. I decided that I could weather the wet. The little rain wetted the trails binding the dust into tack condition. I dropped in on old horse ridden in trails that run the fall line w/ no water diversion. Amazed @ the damaging ridden in  trails. I used to ride this loop when I lived here. Logging is underway from the saddle out a ways to the shoulder of Mica where I turned down the downhill. Ran into a bull moose on the overgrown section. He trotted uptrail a short ways then dropped downhill into the brush making a great noise. I was not treated as a mating challenge. I got soaked from the overhanging wet brush plus the sweat dripping off me. I put on my rain jacket for the downhill to keep warm. Downhill outside the park is a beat up Jeep width trail. Steep. Lowered the seat dropper, enjoyed the speed control from the Formula T1 brakes front and back. Killer. 1 hr 40 mins up, 32 back down  includes a climb back to the van. Another 3,000′ day, 3rd in a row. 15.69 miles burned 953 cals. I hung the wet riding clothes inside the van. Cultured a locker room smell. drank a beer in the parking lot while a strong shower banged on the roof.

Funny. After my ride sitting in the van a converted police car pulled up. Inside were 2 older woman who were doing a community watch. I asked what were they looking for. Camping they said. I said I did not see any signs prohibiting it. They agreed if it wasn’t signed then how could someone be throw out. Not that I would know of camping.

Drove back north thru town to take a shower then dinner @ my 3rd establishment. I have yet to find a place where I like the food well enough to return. Nothing like the Elk out in newly built buildings.

6 days straight riding.

This year I have ridden  2047 miles on 148 rides. I am riding very strong.

Tomorrow I wrestle w/ the computer fix it shop to deal w/ the missing programs and history. i haven’t located Outlook yet.

Wed is MRI follow up.

Good bye Vista, hello windows 7 and lost data

I drove by a computer fix it shop several days ago. Temptation. I had issues and the shop might be able to fix them. Vista had issues and my problems were associated w/ Vista. Shop recommended to replace Vista w/ Win 7. I would need to reload programs. Guy said he would save my Documents file. He missed capturing all my Nat Geo maps. Over 5 years of mapped rides gone unless he backed up the C drive first. FUCK. He needs to show me where I can find Outlook for Email.

Today I rode a loop around Mt Coeur d’Alene from Beauty Bay. Old legacy trails out on the edge. Big hump. 14.21 miles in 2 hrs 9 mins climbing 3166′ but burned only 859 cals which doesn’t seem right. Hot day, dripped quite a lot of sweat. This ride is one of my all time favs. Tom from C d’A showed it to me except I rode and hike a biked out of the hole as i felt the trail would be more clear of downed trees than the logging road slog. The trail was cut out, I didn’t learn of the roads. trail 257 up then down into the hole to pick up 227 climbing out. I scared up a cow and calf moose. I rode very strongly. And I hiked my bike w/ gusto. Tim showed me this route that made for a really long downhill from the junction of Caribou ridge and 227. All alone. Trail drops down onto an opened up old logging road to intersect 257 part way down. Seat dropped and tuned fork, WOW. Smoked. I encountered 3 guys part way down in full face helmets. They allowed me to pass. They didn’t catch me. But then their safety meeting might have lingered. Hot sweaty day. Huge elevation gain in short distance.

Yesterday was another historic loop on MT Spokane. Purpose was picking huckleberries but i found only blue berries that I didn’t pick. I parked @ Bear Creek lodge for $5 instead of the $10 park day pass. I bought a $5 shower from Sam. i scared up an elk and a cow and calf moose. There are several trails in the park that need to be destroyed and start over to make them sustainable. Junk. Shower @ Bear Creek then drove back into park up to Bald Knob XG for the night. rest room actually ran hot h2o. Chilly night, great sleeping. Made scratch pancakes for bfast today.

Fri was an all day session w/ Brandon and Ben from Freehub magazine Brandon is the publisher, Ben is the photog and writer. I look forward to reading how they tell my story. related well w/ them and they me. I showed them a taste of Beacon.

Thurs I rode Beacon to get a feel for it. The city allowed a frisbee golf course on property. What a mess the players brought w/ their litter and car break ins. Maybe not all caused by the golfers but their eke tag along.

This fucking software continues to erratically move the cursor to overtype. I’m tired.

I camped above Liberty Lake @ a TH for tomorrow’s ride. i am killing myself w/ local favs. Get ’em in before shoulder repair.
