If ya wanna get a hit….

You got to stick your bat out. My dental care this week was a hit over center field fence. A tooth was bothering me which forced my hand for having it checked out and a tooth cleaning. Today is Friday and all 3 needed appointments have been completed within days. I maybe called this office on Monday, scored a new patient visit on Wed, a needed cleaning needed an additional appointment. A cancelled cleaning appointment 20 mins after my completion put me in the care of an hygienist. She worked my teeth over, took pictures and probes. During cleaning she found a small decay on the root of a root canaled crowned tooth, a filling was recommended. Back to front desk: 10 AM today. repair completed, teeth taken care of. A waterpik was suggested firmly. I bought the cordless one which is accumulating hours to 24 hours of starting charge. Cost a rear wheel.

Yesterday I rode a Flagline loop from Swampy in the morning. Climbed up Ridge to junction of Dutchman / Swampy tie which starts on twisty woods single track then picks up a snowmobile right of way with a mostly single track which vertically undulated up to Dutchman snowpark, 7.02 miles climbing 988′ pedaling for 59 mins. Second time to ride it, previous was the other direction which memory recall remembered how much it was downhill. Pick up Flagline access out to Flagline. I pedaled all the climbs for the first time and nonstop also. Flagline legally opens on 8/15, closed till then to protect elk calving and rearing. Unfortunately there are riders who are into themselves versus better good.

Flagline climbs till it quits (duh), then descends (second duh) but several short climbs are routed in. Longest downhill in Bend is Flagline linked with others. My ride took me back to Swampy TH. Legacy hiking trails, deep forest cover in natural state. Trail shows wear. 15.7 miles pedaling for 2 hrs 8 mins climbing 1801′ . Encountered 3 riders on Flag. One woman was speaking, I recalled her and she me but not our names. Her voice, my beard.

Drove back down to town to do Thursday wash. Still in 90s in town. I drove up to rd 41 which is just up first climb out of town, not cooler but for me better than out at Phils. I have stayed here many nights parked right off catch and Release trail. I picked my way thru the brush on both sides of the paved road inspecting my knapweed pulling effort and pick any I missed. I give myself an A- for eradication. I gained bonus points as I discovered plants not where I checked before. Pulled plants are frozen in state when pulled and did not mature to seed. Warm night for side door open.

Today returned down to west side dentist appointment.

Yesterday I bought the waterpik at bed and bath. On my shopping list was a pillow and cases. I bought a pillow. I compressed it to see how thin I could make it as it will fit between my pulled up bed and van sidewall. If it is too thick the bed won’t be out of the way. I performed the check last night, pillow too thick. Darn. I need to fins a home for it, still in protective bag. Gave it to Sunnyside folks.

Back up at Swampy again. Mid afternoon ride repeating a previous route of Ridge to Flagline tie, Swampy east, Swede ridge, SST, and Swampy west. I really like being up here in this forest, Cascades Mountains. 57 degrees at 9 PM. Line dried clothes have been put away.

I have been working my legs over on a ribbed foam roller. I am noticing that I am much more limber. My legs have never been this powerful.
