That’s from BB King.
You got to do what you do and be good at it. You can’t do what others do.
I look in my small mirror in my van and see envy for what other people have done in their lives. I read about someone’s adventure and think I could do that. But then I have spent my time being what I do to varying degrees of good at it.
I have been traveling the country for almost 13 years visiting and riding local trails living in my home conversion Dodge Sprinter ( MB with Dodge logo). I have ridden at least once in 49 states. To date I have ridden a Turner bike for 2612 rides accumulating 37,895 miles.
I am coming to grips with the fact that what I have been doing I am good at it. And of itself it is remarkable. I have become what many people want to be. I am what I have become and provide an example to others. I just find it hard to see myself as other people do who envy me.
Fame is what your audience gives to you. I admire many people I have met along the way. I just don’t see myself as someone famous that my audience gives me.
Just musing. I think about how long I have been Mountain Biking the States of just shy of 13 years. That’s a year longer than a child completing their primary schooling. Reflection and self amazing in my ongoing accomplishment.
