Sedona living and riding

Warm sunny days and temps above freezing finally absorbed sufficient moisture to ride trails.

Friend Steve from Sun Valley arrived Tues for each of us our first Sedona ride of the new year. we rode Soldier Wash trails. Steve is fisrt riding the RUNT in his fork. Javalina is a fun downhill trail which provided a proving ground for his money spent. Big smile as a reward. I too, ride a RUNT now almost 2 years on. Sunny warm day. January and almost short sleeves.

Steve on Jordan

We used my tree sprayer to wash off the bit of mud.

The day before I put on new tires. The dismounted tire was put on late last spring. New teeth for slick rock

is and was, 156 rides 2125 miles

Steve and I worked on solving several spots that caused us to not make. we worked several out.

At the bean one evening a guy struck up a conversation about riding with me the next day. Dunno know what either of us would be getting into. We invited him to ride a Llama loop. Tom fit well. He got a local touch for his Sedona ride.

Yesterday Steve and I rode Skywalker, Scorpion, wander, ramshead then Ridge. Steve is working on getting red dirt legs instead of white snow fat bike riding.

Today we nailed a piece of Chuck Wagon Mescal loop. Hero dirt.

I fixed a quinoa dinner last night for us.

Staying out off Beaverhead. watched water truck pull in to fill up the water tank  which feeds a water trough for to be moved in cows for more desert destruction. Desert has not recovered from last year.

Slow internet and friendship distracts from writing more.

Real snow

Waiting out the melt. Slept at Uhaul lot. In bed and asleep before the ball dropped, prolly quiet because of snow covered side streets. Fixed bfast then drove down to VOC on uncontested snow cleared road. Went for a walk on Slim Shady and Made in the Shade: white snow, red rock, blue sky. Pretty

Bell Rock and Courthouse

Going to be a bunch of days before the trails are firm enough to hold tires up. rain forecast for later this week.

This AM at 7:15 AM outside temp was 18 degrees while inside was a toasty 46. Furnace ran all night, van just can’t keep the heat in. The snow depth was sufficient to block solar power. As the day warmed to above freezing and driving over several speed bumps the snow cleared the panel.

Just hanging passing rest time.

Ohio State beat Washington in Rode Bowl. I watched the first half at PJs and finished it up on XM out at Beaverhead Flats.
