Seeking land

I fucked up by deleting what I wrote. I hit a combination of keys that nuked my missive. Sorry, I’m not inclined to recreate.

Summary: Prineville is not a choice. Best selection of raw land is 33 miles south of west Bend. Deschutes NF restricts private property.

Unsettled weather dropping intense rain showers and t-storms. I want to do a short backpack back to Sister Mirror lake. The weather forecast calls for rain and t-storms. I do want to test my new tent and my foot.

Yesterday I spun 51 mins on an exercise bike @ Anytime as I thought the saddle was more to my butt. I rubbed my crotch so badly I had to quit. I sweated so much that my T shirt was completely wetted. There are spin class bikes that lack the fun of electronic ride stimulation but the saddles are better suited.

7 years ago yesterday I handed over my house keys to the closing attorney and hit the road. I made a whirl wind tour of Washington while my left shoulder was finishing healing.

On Wednesday I hiked out to see this feature up Mill Creek outside Prineville. Ochoco Mountains and forest.

The stationary bike at Anytime, the one w/ the mind consuming electronic display, has  an uncomfortable saddle that just rubbed my crotch raw. I made 51 mins yesterday and completely sweated out my t-shirt.

Back to Bend.

AT the Prineville COTA meeting I recognized Rick who used to work @ Mountain Gear back in Spokane. I did not make a memorable impression on him from his tenure.

 Some of what I deleted:

Tuesday I stopped @ Sunnyside bike in Bend to buy and pay them to install a new rear Conti Trail King as even Stan’s could not plug the weeping sidewalls. The tire would have been replaced before I started riding. The tire was leaking air but my arm is not strong enough to lower it from the rack and pump up the tire then put the bike back up.
Next up was Prineville. GPS took me to the 2 sites I picked as possible. Both on east side of Crooked River and south of town. A drive to Bend meant driving North to P-ville then continue to Bend. About an hour drive. The dirt was rubble. I stopped at a local realtor and described what I was looking for: West side of the river w/ southern exposure. Nada. I crossed P-ville off my choice of location.
I stopped @ local bike shop right on main drag which is 3rd Ave which is also on the west east bike route. James.
The Prineville chapter of COTA met @ 5:30 @ Ochoco Brewery. I attended which was another purpose for going over. Made eye contact w/ a guy who was making same. Swammi (sp) whom we had met in Sedona this spring and somewhere else. He’s FS now. I looked at this other guy during the  meeting as he looked familiar. Afterwards I called him Rick and he said yes. I knew him from Mountain Gear back in Spokane. Mountain biking is catching on in the area.
I had planned a short backpack trip up Mill Creek east and north of town. However, my legs were still barking from the beating they took the day before on S Sister. I did drive up to Wildcat XG for the night. Cost $4.00 senior discount. I hoped that there would have been turn outs on public land b4 the XG but because the road was in drainage private property lined the roadside.
I did go for a hike a bit down the road to Stein’s pillars, out and back
