Fri night I read the forecast:90 degrees for Sedona. Enough of a reason to drive up canyon to Flagstaff @ 7000′. 89A climbs out 0f Oak Creek canyon gaining 3500′. Spring emergence is elevation based which affects the temperature that allows the trees to leaf and bud out. I retrieved an old gps track of a ride Joe and I did back in ’11 and loaded it into my Garmin which will give me a route to follow per the gps data displayed, which, when understood, removes reading a map and figuring out where I am. I drove to Schultz creek TH which is on the way to the Grand Canyon. Popular place favored by mtn bikers and hikers, I did not experience any user conflicts. I climbed about 1,000′ of elevation gain up to 8,000. Huffer. I have been living @ 4,500′. I stopped to talk to a guy and girl rider couple. I read on his shorts: Shenandoah Bike Company: Tim’s shop from Harrisonburg, VA. We talked about the VA characters and trails. They are traveling nurses, they work 3 months then have a month off.

My Silver Sneakers program got me into an Anytime Fitness for a shower. Cleaned I went shopping for 22 cal ammo. Big Walmarts is out as is Big 5. No ammo. I walked downtown to have dinner. Afterwards I drove out HWY 180 towards Grand Canyon the off a FS road for a primitive camp spot.
Thurs my new Terraenduro shoes arrived @ Bike and Bean. Tony ordered 40.5, they shipped 45s. I need these shoes to replace the PI shoes. I asked Tony to call on Fri and learn of an expedited delivery. Nuts, I will stay in Sedona until the shoes arrive this Tues (maybe).
Thurs Jimi and I rode the Soldiers wash trails stopping @ the Sinkhole,
after I did my wash for one last time.
I drove back to BnB for a shower then dinner @ Jimmy & Jan’s and for me to bake scratch electric brownies for Fri shop ride.
I am quitting for bedtime. I will ride here again Sunday in the 20mph winds.
