Two days in a row

Today Steve and I rode Eves Gulch. He is like 3 mtn bike rides in after the removal of the cast on his right hand. He rides a 29er ful suspension. The trail is loose and dusty as are just about all trails. Eves is a 2080′ climb in like 6 miles. Once in the gulch the trail steepens. Weathering in machine built trail. The trail climbs up thru a burn, nature is recovering. Saw some fireweed.

Riding back was almost entirely coast, just a few pedal strokes. What a great bike again. The fork getting sick was very gradual trending to junk. The front is so plush, I notice that the rear is harsh. The front brake is internal organs still moving as the brake stops the front wheel. Still Squeals when more strongly applied. Announces my presence. I ride under control aware of limited sight line. Today I came around a blind corner, maybe 75′ ahead was a group of hikers. I squeezed the front brake (plus the rear, silly). The squealing warned them b4 they turned to see me. Better than a bell. Issue is brake pads. I’m liking the brake enough to explore buying one for the rear.

We still tried to get a paid shuttle up to Baker lake, operative is tried. Needed 4 riders min, I could only get 2.

Tomorrow Steve is leading me on Red Warrior over to Mars Ridge then back down. Mars is new to me.

I am continuing my viewing of successive episodes of Justified.

Thinking tomorrow I will stay out on Warm Creek out of cell coverage.

Tonight Out here on Trail Creek Cameron pedaled in w/ Bret. He laid out a ride on Tues over on the Stanley side.

My bike is back together. My health and body are in accord. I am now free to move about the country. Next up is Lionhead @ West Yellowstone if i can line up several other riders for grizzly encounter management. Otherwise, I suppose Bozemen.

Les called me while on his way to McCall. I shared ride data that I suggested he verify @ LBS. There were burns in the area.
