One last Syllamo ride

During the night whatever the bug bites are became super itchy such that I got out of bed, hoisted the bed up, and opened the drawer to retrieve the nail polish. I painted the bites that were the worst. I was bitten last Friday @ How’s, 7 days and they are still irritating me. The poison ivy gotten on Sat is past itching stage, takes a week for the itch to go away.

Nice way to start the day w/o driving to a TH. 9:30 start to ride Jack’s Branch bypassing the logging operation. Again, the trail need to be brushed out:

thorns ripped my flesh

My left arm was as bad. Great trail w/ a mix of doable tech stuff, spinable smooth, and cardio busting. I liked it. Beautiful riding day. All to myself, in fact there were no cars @ any of the 4 THs.

Back at van I rinsed off w/ remaining h2o in solar shower.

Plan is to drive to Mountain Home and pay to stay in a XG on Norfork lake and a shower as XG is Army Corps of Engineers and there are usually showers in the XG. My route went thru Calico Rock where hopes of another black and white malted would be met. Sunday, place was closed, they are still working to non tourist time. Roads here stay on top of ridges offering views as it were thru the trees.

Grocery shopped @ bigger better Harps in Mtn Home. Drove to XG via GPS after missing it w/ my written directions. $10 which is 1/2 off because of my forever pass entitling holders to 50% off fees. Nice XG recently renovated. All by myself. Power not turned on @ site I discovered when i plugged in to run my fridge on AC. Washed my bike.

Misty’s article ran in the paper: http://www.nwaonline.com/news/2012/may/13/man-rides-area-trails-journey/. If you go to yesterday’s post then down to comments, click and a hyperlink will be in the comment.

Tomorrow’s ride will be in Pigeon Creek area N of here then on to Jonesboro.

Nice weather. I could live in NW Arkansas.
