Validation of the fork tune

Enjoyed dinner w/ sister Lise & husband Warne @ Malabar Inn.

Went to bed early & Slept late.

Running heater fewer hours as daytime gets above freezing.

Putzed around. Mounted new Velociraptors front and back.

Snow still on ground. Thinking about Mohican but in snow would be slippery plus I am riding myself back into shape after 2 week off bike.

Headed out to buy propane & ride by going by Huffman’s house to see if Jim and Judy were there. Along the way I perceived that their new house was on the other side of the old one. Knocked on door and learned of my error. Drove back and found J & J @ home. They are from old family friends. Enjoyed visit.

Drove to Lexington to buy propane @ quick shop; their price was cheaper than propane fuel dealer. Few choices for propane purchase. Burning about 5 gal / week. At this time of year if I run out the food will probably not spoil but I would be cold.

Drove out to Stoller Trail on the N side of Clear Fork Reservoir, a little trail system running along shore of lake. Sister Lynn shared the trail w/ me last fall.

Geared up. Still snow on trail in places.

Fork works great. I hit all the roots and rocks that I could ride over enjoying the plushness. The new tires gripped the slippery roots better. Short huffing & puffing ride. The snow covered wet oak leaves with maybe a root hidden under them made for a heads up ride. 50 min ride, just a few miles.

Drove into Mansfield past old memory places. Drove past our old house. The elm tree is still standing in the front yard and there was a big tree in the back yard. We moved out in 1959. Old neighborhood and the houses all around are in good repair. Something to experience an old neighborhood that is still healthy.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody.
