Last Friday’s ride took me to the bottom of the notorious Templeton switchbacks that require for me quite a lot of wrestling me and my bike up and over numerous rock features. Nasty climbing. Or it might have been the lead in on Baldwin. What I know is after my ride and my solar shower I happened to push on my abdomen and felt pain on my lower right side. The next day the localized pain was gone but general muscle tenderness remained. I rode several times afterwards. Yesterday the localized pain returned. I emailed primary care DR in Flag for an appointment which are now telecons. I took a pic of bulge and emailed back to DR. He reported looks like hernia. This AM, in fear of covid, I entered the ER here in Sedona. ER DR examined then reported that it is a inguial hernia. He was able to reduce it. Now begins the repair process. Prolly no more riding for awhile.
Weather forecast is calling for 80+ degrees for several days, reduced from previous 90s. Still hot and very little shade opportunities. Just hanging around. Reading is occupying my time. Finishing up a Grisham novel and awaiting his newest.
Repair shop showed me how to turn on air conditioning in van. It works. Is now potential luxury.
