Tues @ 10:30 AM I check in for shoulder repair surgery to reattach 2 torn tendons. I have been savoring my last rides for enjoyment and not pounding. Healing process is 6 weeks no mobility followed by 6 weeks of stretching. Finally in early Dec I get to move to strengthening exercises. May DR Kody successfully reconnect. After Tues I will be back to 1 finger typing and not much to share about riding. I bought 3 large pillows and cases and today a pair of sweat pants and a larger shirt. I have installed the spring locks to my shoe laces. I have been practicing doing things w/ just my left arm.
So, past rides have been Beacon, High Drive, MT Spokane, and Riverside .
Sat I rode MT Spokane and parked @ a place named the Beach which is off the side of the road outside the park meaning a free place to park and access to the park. At a kiosk I saw a flyer for Evergreen South gathering that night @ The Rocket way out on South Hill. Evergreen East absorbed Fat Tire Trail Riders club that I co founded. I connected w/ several club officers and learned some of what they are up to and shared knowledge. I met a woman officer who works out @ Triumph where I used to work. She was ecstatic meeting me as she learned of me at work. I told some work stories. She is a composites engineer, I learned about thermoplastic which has some great potential for bike frames when the price of materials come down.
Sun I rode Riverside which is for me a great fun place to ride: lots of miles, great pedaling, and some tech spots. trail in places is right on the Spokane River. What Riverside has for Spokane, MT Spokane has for the mountain.
Tonight I move down to Pastor Don’s stand alone little house. Also this eve I have a meeting w/ a realtor for the house next to my old house. Place is a dump but has 10 acres.
Today I rode w/ Arch who previously worked on body using strain counter strain which is just so weird but it works.
I am parked in a parking lot. Two young boys were riding their BMX bikes doing stunts. One guy pinch flatted his rear tire. I pulled out my tool box and found a tube patch kit that he used to patch his snake bite. Nice kids.
I yellow jacket sneaked up my short sleeve shirt unbeknown to me, I moved that it didn’t like and expressed the dissatisfaction by stinging me.
I took my last shower using my right arm.
Brief violent t-storm hit here last night. A weather warning was broadcast during the Seahawks game. Up off High Drive a 22″ dia P-pine snapped about 8 feet up the trunk and landed between 2 houses which were separated by maybe 10′. What an escape the house residents had.
Craig, Hope all goes well and you are given an extra dose of patience. WallyO
Craig, hang tough buddy! This kind of thing tests a man’s patience. I know this too well! You will be back before you know it, and I wish you good luck. Take Care, Phil & Allison
May your surgery be successful followed by a speedy recovery
