Last night I drove back to McCoy Corral and a ride today.
Today is to be a busy day w/ a morning ride then drive to Fruita, CO. I needed to do wash, buy diesel & propane, & take a shower. I managed to do the first 3 in Vernal, a shower was @ XG in Fruita. I checked the oil level in the van and discovered I was one quart low. First that it has needed oil between changes. I had never bought oil. I shopped @ a NAPA store next to Altitude cycles. The woman clerk was above effort. Our research supported by the last oil change in WI revealed the correct oil.
On today’s ride I attempted to pick up More Hoes and More Pimps trails but succeeded only in riding Fire Sale:
I briefly visited w/ Troy b4 he left to pick up his son from school. He said the BLM has recognized the trails @ McCoy and will install permanent signs which will be a great navigation help… until the haters of public good destroy them. The above 2 trails I sought have fallen into lack of maintenance.
I visited a Michelin tire store seeking advice about my van’s steering peccadillo. No tire info was attributed to the wallowing.
I drove over Douglas pass on the way to Fruita. Wallowing turns. 8400′ @ the pass w/ slight snow on side roads.
The Hot Tomato was my dinner spot. Both Anne and Jen were absent.
I am here in Fruita area until fork lower comes in. Drew from Montrose is OTE tech person.
Friday is windshield repair in Grand Junction and a ride out @ Lunch Loop, perhaps Butter Knife and a climb up to The Ribbon then bomb down on exposed slabs of slick rock.
Oil consumption not always bad. Rings need oil to not eat cylinder wall.
More hoes and more pimps seems desperate for you!? 🙂
Maybe not tires but shocks cause wallowing?
Thanks for the tips. Suspension was next on check list.
