However, I never made it big to taper from. A tip for riding a century is to break it into (4) 25 mile rides you have done in the past. Sat is 62 miles. Today I gave it a go for big but my settling nature quit @ 20 miles. Nice riding weather, just the right amount of chill. Dusty. Phils is fun riding swooping among the P-pines. Rider turn created berms for banked turns. I skillfully rode a climbing switchback that the Better Ride clinic worked on that I didn’t make because I looked down and stalled. Today I just pedaled up it. My breathing or how I breathe just sucks. I am strong for a few seconds going up then I run out of breath and struggle to finish the climb. If it is age I will accept that. Definite deterioration since I started 51 months ago. Sat’s ride will be a struggle. today was 19.65 miles in 2 hrs 13 mins, climbed 1889 feet and burned 1806 cals.

I made my AM appointment @ Hutchs to tune the foot beds. Matt checked my knees w/ a plumb bob b4 installing the new beds. My knees wobble hardly at all. He did put the lesser of the 2 height pads in that brought my knees tracking vertically. I wore those shoes on my ride. Too soft flex for this riding.

After finishing my ride and getting road ready I headed back into town for a shower, dinner groceries, and a beer @ 10 Barrels. $5 shower in the rec center. No Fitness club facilities. A pint @ 10 Barrels. 4 guys joined me @ a table. They are w/ a national retail company working transportation. One of the guys is their lean mfg focal. I shared some of my knowledge. I didn’t receive a beer payment.

Back out @ camp spot after dark w/ the heater on. 27 degrees this AM.

Tomorrow I will ride again.
