10-15 degrees warmer and somewhat less rain here in Tucson and Phoenix. Places like Gold Canyon, South Mountain, Casa Grande Mountain and the Tucson Mountains are rocky enough that they never get muddy, perhaps just a few small spots. Low organic matter level of the soil inhibits soil formation.
